Acumatica is a state-of-the-art manufacturing software cloud product which can run in any modern web browser. It can hosted either in the cloud or on premise.

It targets mid-sized companies between $10 and $40M in revenues doing light manufacturing and wholesale distribution, as well as service companies with project management needs.

Acumatica features integrated financials across multiple business entities including automated reporting, consolidation, payments, and cash management. Being a cloud product, it is very easy to move data to and from Acumatica. It also provides a mobile app that runs on Android and IOS. It sports a robust CRM application, Business Intelligence and Dashboards, custom workflows and alerts and has integration with outlook via MS Exchange. There are about 2,000 installations worldwide.

Acumatica addresses international markets effectively with cloud multi-currency, multi-language, and multi- company capabilities, as well as localized functionality.

With its essential strength in financial applications, light manufacturing and wholesale distribution, it competes with Netsuite but is far more cost effective. More sophisticated warehouse distribution, e.g. bar coding, is available with a third party application.

For manufacturing Acumatica supports straightforward make to order and make to stock with routings. It has lot control and production scheduling. Production planning is facilitated via the MRP and the Advanced Planning and Scheduling module. The new Product Configurator model provides a flexible feature set for configuring products and building a sales order with a mapped production order for fullfilment.

SaaS licensing costs are based on the number of transactions and required server size. Monthly costs begin at around $1,000 per month for the standard version. It can also be purchased outright for about $50K+.

  • A special code layer for custom changes which Acumatica states does not affect upgrades and can be removed if necessary.

  • Project accounting – complete view of project-related costs for materials, labor, services, and inventory item. You can compare actual project costs with original and revised budgets with real-time reports.
